About Us

Pacific ALLIES is dedicated to empowering Pacific Island communities through education, collaboration, and sustainable solutions. Founded by Dr. Gregg Nakano, our mission is to prepare the next generation of leaders to address the challenges of climate change, human security, and community resilience across the Pacific.

Working closely with communities throughout the Republic of the Marshall Islands, especially Ebeye and Kwajalein Atoll, Pacific ALLIES brings together students, educators, researchers, military partners, and local leaders to create meaningful, community-driven solutions. These partnerships are essential in fostering an environment where innovative ideas can flourish and practical applications can take shape.

We believe lasting change begins with partnership. By engaging in hands-on learning, service projects, and cultural exchanges, participants gain not only practical experience but also a profound appreciation for the unique cultural heritage and societal challenges of the Pacific Islands. This engagement is designed to facilitate a deeper understanding of important issues such as climate adaptation, food and water security, renewable energy, environmental stewardship, and youth leadership, which are critical for the sustainable development of these communities.

Our vision is to transform Pacific communities with innovation, traditional knowledge, and education come together to build a stronger and more resilient future. By integrating traditional practices with modern technology, we aim to create solutions that are not only effective but also culturally relevant. This holistic approach ensures that the strategies and innovations developed are embraced by the communities themselves, leading to long-term sustainability and empowerment. Through this initiative, we strive to cultivate a spirit of resilience and adaptability that will empower future generations to navigate and mitigate the impacts of climate change and other emerging challenges. Together, we can build a better future for all Pacific Island communities.

“Together, we are building stronger communities, inspiring future leaders, and creating sustainable solutions for generations to come.”
